4 Practical Ways That Can Help You to Decrease Screen Time

When it’s come to using your phone most people spent lots of their time on their phone. They first open their phone for some reason and then after some time they forget about what they were doing and continue using their phone even they do the work for which they started using their phone. So I was also a phone addict before but I tried these hacks which helped me to decrease my screen time and make me more productive.

Deleting your social media

Now when it comes to the overuse of your phone the main reason why people become a slave to their mobile phones is using social media. These social media apps are made in this way that if u started using them then you can’t stop scrolling, cause they put different interesting posts which make you curious to know about those, and that's why you can’t stop scrolling. So to decrease your screen time you must delete all your social media apps like Facebook, WhatsApp, Instagram, etc. And if you urgently need it then you can reinstall it and then delete again or open it from your chrome or other browsers. These steps may seem to be tough for you right now but in the long-term, it's gonna help you and you find it easy to stop yourself from overusing your mobile phone.

Turning off all notifications

Notifications are also a reason to overuse your mobile phone. Whenever you are doing something serious make sure you turn off notifications cause whenever you are doing something those notifications distract you and continuously force your mind to check your phone and if you fall into that trap you start using your phone and you distract yourself from that serious work. So turn all your notifications off especially for social media apps and entertaining apps.

Hiding phone while working

All of these points that I mentioned before become unnecessary by just hiding your phone from your eyesight. Cause when you hide your phone from your eyesight you find nothing to disturb you and you can only focus on your studies/work. You can do this by keeping your phone in the other room or just giving it to your parents and telling them that not to give your phone until you complete what you are doing.

Tracking screen time

If you want to concern yourself about how much time you spend on your phone or you want to decrease your phone usage then you can download some app that helps you to know how much time you’re spending on your phone. So that you can reduce your screen time and also make a goal that you gonna spend That much time on your phone. Those goals help you to declutter your screen time.


So, I think if you follow those steps then you can control mobile phone addiction and above following all of these points that I mentioned I want to say that its all in the head, means if you can control your mind then these steps are useless for your cause then you know what gonna harm you in the long term and what not.
