5 Morning Routine That Will Keep You Active Throughout The Day
You no more have to rely on caffeine for energy.
Who does not want to have a great start to the day?
This not only sets up a great mood but also motivates a person to conquer the day.
While fixed and effective morning routines are a great way to start the day, the sad part is that so many people follow the wrong routine.
Not every morning routine is set to make you feel active or productive for the day. There are a few common habits that everyone needs to add to their routine in order to get the most out of the day.
And to answer that here in this blog, I have come up with 5 essential habits that one should add to their morning routine to feel more active and energetic throughout the day.
1-Drinking a glass of water
Your body stays dehydrated for long hours while you sleep (almost 6–8 hours).
So, the first thing we need to do is feed our body with water (it is certainly our responsibility).
Consuming a full glass of water (not a small glass) gives you energy by helping to prevent symptoms such as fatigue and tiredness that come with dehydration.
I typically consume a liter of water at the beginning of the day (then 1.5 liters in the gym).
You can also prefer hot water or water mixed with lemon, which helps in detoxification.
2-Working out
This one is probably familiar to most of you.
Working out in the morning helps with increased energy.
So, what happens while you work out is that your body gets more oxygen into the system, which helps your cardiovascular system to work more efficiently. This directly helps the body with increased energy and mood boosters.
What I do is that I usually wake up around 7 a.m., and after I wake up, I directly drink a liter of water and go to the gym (with a light pre-workout meal or on an empty stomach).
You can follow that too or create your own routine. But do add exercise to your routine in the mornings.
3-Making your bed
Having a clean room certainly leaves a healthy impact on the brain.
An unhealthy environment not only reduces productivity but also depletes energy levels.
I certainly get a good deal from this habit.
On the days I do not feel like making my bed, I feel sluggish in the mornings. On top of that, making the bed in the morning gives me a sense of accomplishment, which I am sure you will also feel.
An organized bed can also help with the quality of sleep, which can certainly help with your energy level after you wake up.
4-Cold shower
Cold baths are the best substitute for caffeine.
If you live on the colder side of the world, then you must give this a try.
The cold water sends many electrical impulses to your brain. They jolt your system to increase alertness, clarity, and energy levels (source↗️).
As I am from India, I do not get to experience it year-round.
So, when it is winter here, I sometimes take cold showers.
5-Having quality breakfast
The type of food you have in the mornings (for breakfast) directly affects your mood.
Consuming unhealthy or junk food in the morning will certainly destroy your mood.
So it is always advisable to consume healthy foods in the mornings.
You can also give this a try.
For instance, if you usually have breakfast cereals, switch that to fruits and oats (something healthy), or if you are the opposite, then have unhealthy food for breakfast.
You will undoubtedly see the difference.
