I went from a broke student writing BS college assignments to making $3k-$5k/mo writing on social media for others.

Quick background on me:
• I knew I was not good at academics
• I was always a 9-5 hater and knew I wasn't going to be doing a job after college.
So while in college, I knew I had to find something else.
Something that I’ll enjoy doing and can monetize to live a good life.
I always had this mantra:
“Building something of my own.”
As someone who comes from a wealthy family,
There was always an easy path for me to take.
I already had a 20-year-old family business
I can take care of if I can’t do something of my own
But in my head, that was never an option for me.
And guess what?
I did exactly what I said.
I tried every possible things
From running an Instagram page to
Uploading vlogs on Youtube to
Running a web development business
But nothing worked out.
And then…
In 2021
Writing came into my life.
Ngl I had
- no plan
- no goal set
- no expectations
I just started because of a YouTube video.
At the end of 2021
I came across a platform called Medium,
I heard you can make money writing blogs there.
If you don’t know about Medium, its like Youtube for bloggers.
But one day I found out that you can’t enroll in their partners program
If you are someone from India. DREAMS SCATTERED!
But that day, something great happened,
I realized I fell in love with writing
Even though I wasn’t making money
I still wanted to continue writing.
But I had to find a way to make money
As I was coming towards the end of my college days
And I had to find a way to make money online
Else I'd be forced to work 9-5 by my family.
2022
A friend came to me
And he said: “Why don’t you start on LinkedIn?”
“You know how to write.”
“All you have to master is building an audience.”
I gave it some thought and with no strategy, I just started.
LinkedIn felt like fun to me but…
As I had no idea how to monetize there,
I eventually ended up quitting in 4 months.
And again, I went back to Medium to write daily.
Between June 2022 and April 2023
I even tried running my own blog on Fitness niche.
Some of my blogs even rank on Google but then
For some reason, I didn’t enjoy it that much.
So I quit, AGAIN!
April, 15th
I can still remember the date
The same friend who asked me to start on LinkedIn
Again, he told me that there’s a huge opportunity on Twitter
And as he was working as a ghostwriter at that time,
He asked me to start on Twitter too.
That day, the magic happened.
My journey on Twitter started.
And you know the rest.
I went from
A broke college student
Writing college assignments
To a ghostwriter making $5k/mo
And all of this happened because of
That one friend and my desire to make money online.
If you came this far to the thread
I believe you have enjoyed the whole thing,
And you have the same journey as me,
Maybe you’ve started making money
Or you have not started yet,
But one thing you should remember
Irrespective to where you’re in your journey
DO NOT DARE TO QUIT.
It’s all going to happen one day.
I still don’t think I am successful at all
But I am definitely better than I was 2 years ago.
And that should be your goal too—to be better than yesterday.
