Reaching daily protein goals as a vegetarian is quite a challenge. As protein options are quite limited, eating the same dish every day can become a little boring. So here in this blog, I will share with you two soy chunk recipes (one for vegetarians and another for non-vegetarians) that are not only tasty but also easy to make.

Soya chunks are really high in protein. For vegetarians or sometimes those who are on a low-calorie budget, soya chunks can be a rich source of protein with fewer calories. There are plenty of benefits to consuming soy. So before I share with you the recipe, here are some facts on soya.

5 amazing facts about Soya

  1. Soya chunks almost contain the same amount of protein as chicken breast.
  2. Great for heart health.
  3. It can improve digestive health.
  4. Good for maintaining hormonal balance among women.
  5. Can help in lowering cholesterol levels.

Disclaimer

Consuming too many soy products on the same day can cause digestive issues.

One important point to make is that consuming soya daily does not cause manboobs or hormonal disbalance in men. As soya chunks contain phytoestrogen, consuming 1kg of soya daily can do some harm.

Vegetarian recipe

Here is the quick recipe for vegetarians,

  • Take the required amount of soya in a cup and wash it before cooking.

Non-vegetarian recipe

Recipe for non-vegetarians,

  • Take the required amount of soya.
  • Wash it before boiling.
  • Add a bit of salt and put it in the pressure cooker.
  • Leave it until it gets boiled.
  • After boiling again get all the water out of it.
  • Then take eggs depending on the amount of Soya.
  • Take a pan and add a bit of oil or ghee.
  • Put the egg in it (like you cook omelet) and add boiled Soya chunks with it.
  • Mix Maggie masala with that mixture.
  • Add Ketchup as per requirement.
  • The dish is ready to serve.

I tried both, and personally, as a non-vegetarian, I prefer eating the second one. This one is not only delicious but also rich in protein. Usually, I have 40 grams of soya daily.
