Using fasting to lose weight. People think that if they just fast they will lose weight, there is no extra work to do; which is completely wrong. I always say weight loss only happens when someone eats in a caloric deficit. So this signifies Yes! you need to be in deficit to lose weight whether you do fast or not. Fasting is not a magic pill to solve the problem of losing weight.

Now, as you know the fundamentals of weight loss; before we see how to use fasting to lose weight here are some of the types of fasting.

Types of fasting

  • The Warrior Diet.
  • OMAD (one meal a day).
  • Spontaneous Meal Skipping.
  • Bulletproof Intermittent Fasting.
  • 4:3 Fasting.
  • Eat Stop Eat Fasting.
  • 5:2 Fasting Diet.
  • 16:8 Fasting.

How to use fasting in weight loss

As said in the beginning a calorie deficit is the only answer to weight loss. So no matter what diet you pick try to be in a deficit. As you are getting 1–2 meals a day try to control calories on those meals. Do not eat too much as you get fewer meals.

And if you can not continue will fasting and feeling very hungry and low energy because of fasting then stop doing it. If your body and lifestyle allow you to follow any particular type of fast then only follow one.
